Clique Into Colour

Hey there all my lovely crafters! This weekend Clique Kits is hosting a super fun crop on Facebook!! We're getting messy and playing with all things colour! Inks, Paints, Mists, you name it! We just love this collection from Bella Blvd, Just Add Color and the lovely Clique Kits founders have created a fabulous kit to play along with for the crop featuring this collection! Don't worry if you didn't get a kit, you can totally still play along with us this weekend! We're having a ton of challenges all weekend, so I hope you come play with us!!

Here's a layout I made for my Die Cuts Challenge! You can use any kind of die cuts, but I'd love to see how you creatively use your die cuts! If you have a digital die cutting machine or a manual one, show us how you're using those dies or cut files! And if you don't have a die cutting machine, then use any die cuts you want!

I used my Cameo to cut the XO (from the Cut Shoppe), and used the center of the "O" to hold my photo! I also used my Cameo to make my title.

Here's some close ups:

I really hope you join us this weekend for some crafty fun and prizes!! I can't see what you make!!

See you on Facebook!

Carpe Diem Blog Share with Clique Kits!

Good Morning my lovelies! I'm so excited that it's time for this month's blog share with Clique Kits! I always look forward to them because we have a lot of really talented crafters in our little Clique and it's always full of inspiration!! If you just happened here and you're not on the hop, you can check it all out starting at the Clique Kits blog, and make sure you leave some love along the way because they're giving away a July Kit to one lucky commenter!!
This month's challenge was an easy one: Anything Goes!

I managed to get 5 layouts done with this kit and I could probably squeeze in another couple more if I had more time! I have had a lot of fun with July's kit and as I was uploading my pics into Blogger, I realized that 4 out of 5 of my layouts are of my youngest son Linden! I think the colours of this kit are really great for baby layouts. Must be why I've done 4 of them with this kit! LOL!

I had a lot of fun playing with Mixed Media this month too! I'm just in a mood to get really messy lately, which is perfect because we have our Clique into Color kit that I'm playing with next! Stay tuned to see what kind of a mess I can get into with that kit! lol We're also hosting an online crop on August 7th-9th featuring our color kit, so I really hope you can join us for that! We're going to have lots of fun challenges to play along with!

I really did have a great time playing with this month's kit! I can't wait to see what everyone else made! I'm off to hop! Your next stop is the amazing Sandy G! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

New Clique Kits Challenge!!

Good Morning Bloggers!!

Did you know that every month Clique Kits has an Anything Goes challenge that you can enter up to 3 times with a chance to win an awesome prize from various sponsors?! It's pretty sweet! You don't have to use a Clique Kits kit, but we love it when you do! This month Pink Fresh Studios is sponsoring!! They're giving away a June Embellishment kit! I LOVE those kits!

This is the layout I created for the challenge. There is an optional sketch this month too, but I had already made this layout before we saw the sketch, but, like I said, it's optional!

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe for this layout. I really love the hearts all in a circle, and I wanted to do a little bit to the background, so I used 4 different coloured gelatos to outline the hearts on the cardstock and just smudge them in. I really love how it turned out!

We got these really cute acetate cards with gold shapes on them in our kit this month. I cut out the gold arrow and added the word love to start my title. Now that I'm looking at it again, I think I'm going to go back and use a black marker to outline the word Crazy just to make it stand out more. lol

I stitched this project life card onto another one of the gold and acetate squares. I love the way it turned out.

I also stitched around the layout for some added texture and did my journaling around the stitching too.

I hope you pop over to the Clique Kits blog and play along with the challenge!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've also got a tour of my scrappy space up on the Clique Kits blog today, so If you'd like to check out where I scrap, pop over and say hi!

June Pep Rally Featuring Dream Quest

Hey everyone!! I hope you're having fun along the blog hop! If you haven't been hopping along, you can start off at the Clique Kits blog and go from there! Trust me, you're not going to want to miss this one! We have a very talented group of subscribers and this kit is beautiful!!

So, the challenge this month was to use 3 or more photos on your layout, while I didn't do that with this layout, I still challenged myself by using a big photo. I have never scrapped such a big photo, but when I took this pic of the boys at the lake, I did it on purpose with the thoughts that I would make it really big and have a lot of white space to play with on a layout! So, that's what I did! I'm really happy with the way it turned out, although it is SOOOO out of my comfort zone!!

True to Sarah fashion, I actually made this layout at 1am this morning! I've decided that sleep is really overrated and we were watching the final Orange is the New Black episode, because you know you have to watch 5 episodes at once when watching a series on Netflix! lol Anyway, this morning I wanted to finish it off by adding some machine stitching around the edges, and I'm not gonna lie, that took me an hour! I was ready to throw my sewing machine out the window!! It kept jamming up on me and I don't know enough about sewing machines and tension and all that stuff to fix it, but it seemed like too much thread was coming up from the bobbin and making a big mess in the back! If anyone is a sewing guru and knows why my machine is doing that, I'd love to know!

I kept the layout really simple because obviously the giant photo is the main focal point of this layout and I didn't want a lot of extras on this page, so I cut random strips of paper from what was left of my papers in this kit, and layered them underneath my photo, and then just added some embellishments and the title on either corner of the photo.

I know a deer has nothing to do with swimming, but I just love that resin deer, so I don't care if it isn't part of my theme, I just wanted to put it there! lol I love the exclusive flair so much in this kit, I actually want to have like 3 more sets of them! They're sooooo amazing!!

Once I figured out kind of what I wanted to do with this layout, it came together pretty quickly (with the exception of my possessed sewing machine). I definitely loved how it turned out with the giant photo and I think I will be doing it again!

Your next stop is the lovely Marcia! That girl is soooo talented!! I can't wait to see what everyone else has created! Off to hop!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Don't forget to leave some love as you hope for a chance to win this amazing kit!!

Wherever you go you will always have my heart

Hey all my crafty peeps! I hope you're having a great weekend! I know it just started, but I'm looking forward to it! lol

I wanted to stop in today and share a layout I made a while ago using my June Clique Kit, Dream Quest. I know I say this every month, but this is seriously my favorite kit so far! The Journey collection by Crate Paper is the main focus this month, and I absolutely LOVE all the graphic papers and Aztec style! It's perfect for summer layouts, or everyday! I just love it!

I used this sketch from Paper Issues to create this layout. I loved the circle grid and the big title. It's not my usual style, so I really enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone for this layout!

I love all the gold bits and pieces in this ephemera pack and all the great bits and pieces! There's just so many in the kit! Those puffy feathers?! le sigh...lol

I'm in love with the exclusive flair this month! I mean, how amazing are those gold feathers?!

The Maya Road wood tokens are the perfect fit for this layout with all the circle elements in it. I wanted to give it a little more dimension and I love what it adds to my page.

Stay tuned for some more projects using this fabulous kit! I can't get enough of it!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Saying By to Lizzy

Hello my Crafty Peeps!!

I'm trying really hard to get back into blogging lately! I have been so busy that I haven't had a ton of time for scrapbooking, but I have decided to MAKE time because it's what I love to do! It's so important to do what you love! Lately I've been loving my Cameo!! I'm addicted to cutting my backgrounds and backing them with fun patterned papers!!

I got this cut file FREE from Paper Issues and I just had to use it as soon as it finished downloading!! They have a ton of free cut files, so it's definitely worth it to check them out!

I used my June Clique Kits Kit "Dream Quest" for this layout and ooooh my, do I ever LOVE this kit!! I have been going a little crazy with this kit! I love the fun Aztec designs and the gold foil! *sigh* it's truly amazing! Did I mention it's full of Crate Paper goodies?! Yep...that's why I love it! I've always had a soft spot for Crate Paper!

Here's the story behind these pictures: Recently we were out in Big Lake at my husband's parent's house. They live out in the boonies and it's great for the boys! They just love going out there and exploring and finding all kinds of fun stuff! Well this time they found a salamander, that they promptly named Lizzy, which kind of cracks me up! I love the way their mind's think!

They put him in a container with some wet sand and some holes and played with him most of the day, but when it was time to go home, I made the executive decision to make them let him go. Ethan (our oldest wanted to the whole time because he didn't think it was fair to "take him away from his family") Caleb and Kieran were a little more selfish...lol...they wanted so badly to keep him and have him as a pet. In the end, I said no and they tearfully said their goodbyes. It was heartbreaking! I'm not sure if you can see it in this picture of my layout, but Kieran's face has a big tear dripping down his cheek as he gives him one last pet!

I told them that I would create a layout for Lizzy to remember him by, so, here it is!

I wanted to keep the layout pretty clean and simple, to showcase the pictures, so I did a fun embellishment cluster beside each of the pictures and left it at that. I am in love with those puffy gold stars! I love how Clique Kits always has some exclusive flair badges in their kits that coordinate so perfectly! The "explore" one was just right for this layout!

I painted the wood veneer camera with a bit of yellow paint that came in the May Clique Kit and added an enamel dot to the center to make it pop.

The "have more adventures" phrase is from the gold foil cut apart paper from Crate Paper. I can't get enough of these!!

I really had a lot of fun with this layout! I love the XO cut file with those fun patterns backed behind them! The boys really liked that I documented Lizzy for them too!

I'm going to enter this into the challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges May Trend Challenge of Foil.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I promise you will be seeing more of me in the near future!

Blessings
