Happy Halloween! Cut Shoppe Giveaway and Sale!!

Good Morning and Happy Halloween!!

I'm sad to say that this is my very last post for The Cut Shoppe. I had a blast being a part of that team and I just love working with their cut files! They really are awesome!! Speaking of awesome, a bunch of girls from the team got together to give you all some Halloween inspiration over at The Cut Shoppe Blog! There's also a giveaway there too!

For my layout I used the Bumpy Night cut file for my title and I cut it out with AC POW Glitter paper. It cuts amazingly in the Cameo!!  I cut the title out twice. Once with the glitter paper and once just with black and offset them when I glued them together to give the title a bit of a shadow. I love this effect.

I love this small black chipboard spiderweb from Southern Ridge that I placed just behind my photo! It's so intricately cut, it's just so cool!

The giant spiderweb is part of the Tangled Web background cut file. I enlarged it and cut it out in black and then backed with some fun orange wood grain paper!

How cute are this ghost and bat?! They're from the same pack of goodies from Southern Ridge as the spiderweb! I painted them each and added some glitter to them and I love how fun they look!

You'll want to head over to The Cut Shoppe now and check out all the other AMAZING DT's Halloween layouts! When you're there, be sure to enter the giveaway, and there's also a SALE going on on all the Halloween cut files from now until November 3rd!!

Have a great Halloween!! Don't forget to keep your pets inside today!!

Lawn Fawn FIT Team Call!

Hey Bloggers! I hope you're enjoying this amazing Autumn day we're having today! It's soooo gorgeous I can't believe I'm inside!!

Soooo I was checking out the Lawnscaping website yesterday and I noticed they are having a FIT team Call! So I knew I wanted to apply because I LOVE Lawn Fawn!!

So here's my layout that I created for this call:

I've had this Say Cheese Lawn Fawn stamp set since it came out and I love the versatility of it!

Those of you who know me well will know that I have a slight huge addiction to cameras! I love anything that has a camera on it, hence my love for this set! I gave this camera a little life by stitching around some of the edges and I also added a little enamel dot to the center of it for some added dimension :)

I also used the Quinn's ABC's stamp set on this layout to stamp the word "Love" on the polaroid. I embossed it in teal for some extra texture!

I had a lot of fun making this layout and I love the extra touch these stamps add to it!

I also love a good sketch, and Creative Scrappers always has amazing sketches, so I used this one to inspire this layout! I flipped it around a little, but that's what I love about sketches...it's just an interpretation ;)

Well, I'm off to go finish prep for the Hubs' birthday celebration :)

Have a great weekend! And don't forget to join us at Scrapbook Nerd this weekend for our Zombie Apocalypse Crop!! There will be a lot of games and challenges and of course prizes!!

See you there!!

Blessings

#frankenbaby

Hey Bloggers! I'm sad to say this is my last post as a part of The Cut Shoppe Design Team. I have so enjoyed being a part of this team! I have been in awe every day since joining at the amazing work this team does on a daily basis! They're just so fabulous I can't even put it into words! I will be very sad to not be working with them anymore, but alas, all good things must come to an end sometime! So today I'm sharing my final layout (well, there MIGHT just be one more in the near future)...you never know ;)

I am IN LOVE with the Halloween files! I have a thing for background cut files. I love adding them as a layer to my layouts and the Tangled Web background made such a cool layer! I adhered it by just stitching it on in a random circle with my sewing machine. I wanted it to look even more webby and I love the effect!

I just have to pause for a moment and reflect on just how stinkin cute the subject of this layout is!! LOL He's just ADORABLE! I know I am biased, but, come on...who doesn't agree with me? lol

These two adorable speech bubbles came from the Creepy Crawly cut file. They are just too cute! I love making them pop with a bright background! If you didn't know that the Cut Shoppe has printables, then you definitely need to go check them out! The "ghosts and goblins" card right beside my little frankenbaby is one of those fab printables! I love printing them out on vellum to give them a softer look too! Love how you can see a bit of the other patterned paper through the vellum!

I also used the Chevron in a Triangle file as a mask with some translucent embossing paste. LOVE the texture it gives!

These are the files I used for this layout:

There's still time to play along with October's Cut it Out Challenge over at The Cut Shoppe blog! Head on over there and check it out!

Glitter Deer

Happy Friday Everyone!! I was up on the Southern Ridge blog the other day sharing probably the only Christmas card I'll make this year!! lol
lol I'm not a card maker, but when I saw these awesome chipboard deer from Southern Ridge I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card with him!

Now, I'll tell you all a little story about how this adorable deer came about...I started off wanting to paint him white...so I did...then I didn't like it on the background, so I thought he would be cool to be embossed with pewter embossing powder! So I went about making him...then my heat gun sparked and died :( Sooooo...I thought I'd try my Jamberry heater....it wasn't hot enough...but I've embossed with an iron before...only I don't own one! HA! The jig is up! I don't iron my clothes!@ lol I DO however own a flat iron...so...I thought I'd try that! I tested it out on a scrap piece of paper and it worked awesomely....but a piece of paper is a lot thinner than a piece of chipboard...sooooo....I tried it anyway...and it worked....kinda....but a little bit TOO good! lol it melted the embossing powder in places...So now I'm left with a pewter, whiteish dripping mess of a deer! lol My last resort was to cover it in glue and use this amazing Distress Glitter that I am ashamed to say I've had since it came out and haven't opened! Well, I think it kind of saved the day don't you?! I'm in love with my little deer again! And it doesn't look like the bad guy sidekick to the Terminator (ya know...melting molten metal? no? lol)

The background was done using Hero Arts Daubers and just dabbing them on the background randomly...I think I'm in love with it! lol

Well there you have it! I hope you like it! :) Have an awesome weekend!!

Snips and Snails

Hey Bloggers!! I wanted to pop in and share a layout I made for The Cut Shoppe quite a few weeks ago! It totally escaped my pre posting radar! lol

I have to say this is one of my favourite pictures of my youngest son Linden. I just LOVE candid shots and this one with his cute little arm rolls and his little chubby baby body was definitely one that needed to be scrapped!

I used the "Oh Baby" cut file for this layout, but I changed it around a little bit. That's what I love about digital die cutting! You're totally not even limited to the shapes that you purchase! You can ungroup them and change them around to suit your layout! It's so fun!

Instead of using the cut file in it's original form, I ungrouped it and took out the words that were originally in it. Then I added the Snips and Snails that come in the same file and made it fit inside the star!

I backed the star with some white paper covered in a super fun washi tape from the new Echo Park "Creative Agenda" line.  Then I outlined it with a Slick Writer pen from American Crafts so it would stand out more!

I love everything about this cut file! I love the softness of it. Perfect for baby boy pages!

I'm off to a crop this weekend! Wish me luck because I messed up my back and I can't sit for very long without being in massive pain :( I'm experimenting with different drugs to see how they work! lol that sounds terrible I know, but it's not a muscular thing, I popped out a rib in my upper back, so Advil and Tylenol don't seem to help...either do muscle relaxants...so next up is the good stuff and hopefully I can find a way to make the pain go away without feeling too stoned to scrap! The last time I took Percocet I couldn't even make dinner! lol I'm scared to try them!

Anyway,  have a good weekend!!

Blessings

Polley Pedal Pushers (SRTC DT)

Good Morning Bloggers!!

I just wanted to share a layout I had up on the Southern Ridge Blog a few days ago!

This picture was taken at the end of the Tour de Cariboo. It's a 75km bike ride that raises money for Big Brothers and Sisters. We did a relay this year and really hope to do the whole race next year! Everyone on our team except me works at Mount Polley, hence the name "Polley Pedal Pushers" lol

I used this awesome background piece (PAT-373) from SRTC to bring your eye toward the picture. I really love how it tones down the brightness of the papers with the awesome raw chipboard!

I also used another fabulous cut file from The Cut Shoppe! I loved this one as soon as I saw it and wanted to use it right away!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings

Happy WCM Day!!

Good Morning Bloggers and Happy World Card Making Day!!!

As you may know, I'm not much for making cards, but I love any excuse to get crafty and over at Scrapbook Nerd we're doing just that! We've got challenges and prizes and a lot of fun going on their this weekend, so be sure to stop by!

My challenge is a pretty easy one! It's to use Die Cuts on your card! Whether it's from a digital die cutting machine like these awesome files from The Cut Shoppe (which are October's Exclusive free file at the Scrapbook Nerd store btw), or if you don't have a die cutting machine, just use up that stash of prefab die cuts and get them on a card!! You can head over to the Scrapbook Nerd Forum and link up your creations for a chance to win some prizes!!

I'd love to say that I'm taking today to get crafty, but unfortunately, my husband is still fishing, so I am on regular mama duty today and my house is a MESS! So I will be cleaning instead! Hopefully tonight I can get my craft on though!

Have a Crafty Weekend!!
