Hoppin With The Cut Shoppe!!

Hiya Bloggers and Welcome to The Cut Shoppe Blog Hop!

Today the Design Team is sharing layouts created, with several new Cut File sets that are now available in the Shop.  We are kicking off the Hop at The Cut Shoppe Blog, so make sure you start out there, and visit each of the Design Team Member's Blogs.  And what would a Hop be without some fun giveaways!!  Each designer is giving away one cut file on their Blog, to a lucky commenter and one winner will be chosen from The Cut Shoppe Blog to receive a $15 Shopping Spree to the Shop!  The Hop will close at midnight on Sunday, August 17th, and winners will be announced on Thursday, August 21st.  Have fun hopping!

For this layout I used The Cut Shoppe's sketch too! Did you know they have a sketch challenge going on for the month of August?! Well now you do! lol!

I used a lot of different cut files for this layout. I love that The Cut Shoppe's files are so diverse they can be used with a bunch of different files, but they also stand alone very well too! I really can't get enough of these files!

I am seriously in love with the "It's a Snap" set! Those camera shutters with the hearts in the middle are just so stinkin cute I almost can't even stand it! I cut them out in black, but I also ungrouped the file in the Silhouette Studio and just cut out the teeny hearts to scatter around my page in pops of pink. I kinda love it! :)

The polaroid frame is also part of that set, and if you can imagine, there's even more on that file that I didn't even use! Awesome right?!

So if you've been reading my post, you probably have guessed that I'm totally loving the It's a Snap cut file...well, I love it so much that I'm going to give it away to one lucky follower! Just leave a comment here letting me know you follow my blog and I will be posting the winner here on Thursday August 21st!!

There's also giveaways on every one of these fabulously talented ladies' blogs too, so you really do need to stop by them all and leave them some love if you haven't already!!

Scrap & Music Sketch #24

Hola Bloggers!!
I wanted to pop in today and share Sketch #24 from Scrap & Music! Sadly, it's my last reveal for Scrap & Music. I've had a lot of fun being a part of their design team, but I'm finding 4 kids and 3 design teams is just too much!! lol So, I didn't reapply for the next term on the team. I can't wait to see who is on the new DT though! They're such a talented group of ladies!!

Ok, onto the sketch!

Isn't it a fab sketch?! The song we're playing with this time is Jack Johnson's Better Together. Love this song!

Here's my layout that I made for the reveal: I'm really loving the Crate Paper Boy's Rule line and most of this layout is made with this line.

I hope you play along with us! Be sure to stop by the Scrap & Music blog for some SERIOUS inspiration!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me some love!

Project Life Week 2

Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! I had a busy Saturday followed by a great Sunday of family time spent with my boys! We relaxed in the morning at home, then went for a sleigh ride in the afternoon! It was a lot of fun (although it was kind of cold!)

I wanted to share my week 2 of my Project Life album. I am slowly catching up! I'm working on week 4 now, so I'm not terribly behind!

I'm really enjoying the pocket pages, and I have to share another thing too...I found a great new site dedicated for pocket scrapping called The Pocket Source. They have an amazing gallery that you can share your projects in, a forum to discuss anything about pocket style scrapping and also a section for freebies too! There's some fabulous inspiration there and for someone like me who's new to the whole Project Life thing, it's great!!

I like that you can do a lot of a little with your layouts. If you're in a hurry, you can simply put some cards and photos into pockets and call it done, or you can embellish them as much as you'd like! It's pretty cool!

I also really like the idea of documenting daily life...here's some close ups:

The "sweet" card is one of the Paper Bakery's exclusive cut files that comes with your kit subscription! I love that they have those every month!

Thanks for stopping by! I've gotta go feed my little man! I can't believe he's already 6 months, with two teeth and a huge hunger for food!! It's craziness!!

SOS Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! I've got one more post as a GDT for Scrap Our Stash and this time our challenge is a sketchy one!

I promise my inspiration for this layout came from this sketch! I know it doesn't resemble it much, but I flipped it and rather than using the big stitched hearts I added a negative die cut heart design. That's what I love about sketches though! They're kind of just a starting off spot and they're great to use however they inspire you!

Some close ups:

Well, that's all for my Guest DT spot at Scrap Our Stash! I had a lot of fun joining these ladies this month! I really hope you play along with us!

Dancing Queen?!

Good Afternoon Bloggers!!
I'm a little late in getting this post up, but don't worry, the new challenge at Scrap & Music just started today, so you still have time to play! So, let's get to it!
Here's the sketch. It totally rocks!
And the song (if you haven't guessed from my blog title) is Dancing Queen by Abba. You can click HERE to see the lyrics.

I didn't know what I was going to do with these lyrics until I remembered these pictures of my nephew eating his first birthday cake and I thought the lyrics "Dig in" would be perfect for them!

Here's some close ups:

I hope you stop by the Scrap & Music blog and check out the rest of the fabulous DT's layouts and play along with us!

Love You x forever

Hey there all you crafty peeps! I'm up at the Scrapbook Nerd forum today with day 6 of our "Valentine's Week" of inspiration! I'm also playing along with one of the fellow DT members Michelle's challenge for us to use a sunburst on our layout. Her challenge went perfectly with Studio Calico's sketch this week.

I always love a good starburst, so I got out my Heidi Swapp Sunburst mask and traced random pieces of paper and then cut them out and pieced them together to make this starburst. When I was finished with the big pieces, something felt like it was still missing, so I cut these little black and white strips and added them for a finishing touch!

Some close ups and details:

I used Crate Paper's Flea Market collection for this layout. When I first saw this line I never thought I'd use it because it's quite feminine, but I fell in love with it and decided that I don't care! I'm going to use it on my boy's pages anyway!! lol There's a lot of it that can be used for boys pages too anyway!

I was inspired by Two Peas in a Bucket's February Mood Board on Pinterest for parts of this layout. I got the idea for the caption on the picture from it.

The title is one of the exclusive cut files you get with your Paper Bakery subscription. I looove this file!

I wanted them to look like these:

So I cut the title with vellum and stamped it with black Staz On with a Tim Holtz stamp to create a similar effect. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

The doily was die cut with my Cameo using the POW glitter paper. I LOOOVE that paper!! And it cuts brilliantly with the Cameo!! The best part is that the glitter doesn't fall off all over the place, so you don't get all glittery!

Well, I'm off to bed. We don't have any school tomorrow, so Ethan and I will be working hard making his hockey team's tournament poster tomorrow! The team with the best poster wins a pizza party!! Talk about pressure!! lol I have some pretty cool ideas for it though...hopefully it turns out! I will definitely take pictures to show you all when I'm done!!
