Scrap Our Stash and Clique Kits Unite!

Hey everyone!! It's such a gorgeous Saturday here I can't even believe I'm inside blogging!

I just wanted to pop in very quickly (so I can head out into this gorgeous weather!) to share with you a layout that I made with my fabulous amazing gorgeous March Clique Kits kit "J'Adore"! It's my Favourite Favourite Favourite kit so far! I have absolutely LOVED working with it, and it SOLD OUT! Yup! So now, the only way you can get your hands on this kit is to play along with Scrap Our Stash's S.T.E.N.C.I.L challenge for a chance to WIN one!!

All you have to do to play along is create a layout with an  item from your stash for every letter in the word STENCIL and link it up to win!

I used:
 Stitching
Tape
Envelope
Numbers
Circles
Ink
Letters

I had some fun channeling my inner Missy Whidden on this layout! I just LOVE her style!! I used a stencil that I had in my stash (I believe it was a crafter's companion one), and some matte medium to create a resist with gelatos! I absolutely adore my gelatos and I don't use them enough! I am about to change that! lol

I love the look of stitching on layouts. It adds such a whimsical touch! I also just placed some little balled up bits of thread here and there to give the layout more texture :)

These word stickers that are in the kit are amazing!! They're even embossed just like the old label makers!

One of the add ons from the kit is this clear enamel word "love" which I coloured with some alcohol inks and layered it over the love on that journaling card :)

I've renewed my love for my manual die cutter, so I cut out these gears with vellum and placed them here and there too :)

I had a tiny bit of a black doily left and I wasn't about to let any of it go to waste, so I placed bits of it around my photo to frame it :)

There you have it! I'm off to enjoy this weather!!

Don't forget to play along with Scrap Our Stash to win one of these awesome kits!!

Blessings

Love Life

Good Morning Bloggers!!
I just wanted to pop in quickly and officially share some fun and exciting news with you! I shared it on FB a while ago, but I haven't blogged in a while, so here it is: I was asked to join the Clique Kits design team!!! EEEEKKK!! I am SO excited because I LOVE their kits, so I was very honored to be asked to be a part of this amazing team!! They even gave me a coupon code to share with all of my crafty friends in their store!! Trust me, you'll want to go check it out right now too, because they're in desperate need of space for all the new CHA goodies so they're having a MASSIVE SALE right now!! You can also use the code SARAH10 on top of all the other discounted prices to get an additional 10% off!!

They also have a monthly "ANYTHING GOES" with a twist Challenge! December's is to use something mini. You can check out all the details on this post. I made this layout to play along with the challenge. My "something mini" that I used was this ADORABLE mini heat die that came in the January Tailor Made kit! I am in LOVE with it!!

I cut out a bunch of them, then just scattered them around my layout! I really love the effect of random confetti like shapes!

You still have until December 31st to link up your creations to the Clique Kits blog for a chance to win a prize package from Creative Retreat!

Blessings!!

Go. See. Do. (Scrapbook Nerd Summer Camp)

Hey there Campers!
I hope you've been playing along with us at the Scrapbook Nerd Summer Camp! If not, get your butts over there and get scrapping! There's a ton of challenges going on, including this new one: On the Road! We want to see your travel inspired creations like this one. I have to admit, I've never scrapped a picture that didn't have a person or an animal in it, but I quite like it!

I gave my Cameo a workout with this layout! I got out my trusty silhouette sketch pens and used it for this spiral circle that's part of the "going in circles" cut file from The Cut Shoppe. It reminds me of a spirograph! Then I grabbed out my Faber Castel Pitt Pen and my water pen and colored in the lines (mostly) to give it that watercolour kind of look. I really love the way it turned out!

I also used my Cameo for the title. I just LOVE this file from the "Let's Talk Summer" cut file in The Cut Shoppe.

Come and play along with us at the Scrapbook Nerd Summer Camp! You will have a blast!!

Fun Dip!!

Hey Hey Bloggers!
I have another layout to share from the goodies I got in my kit from Scrapbook Nerd this month! I was given  the Fancy Pants As You Wish Collection to play with and I am in LOVE with this diagonal stripe paper!!

The challenge this month at Scrapbook Nerd is to add texture to your layouts, and one of my favourite ways to add some texture is to layer, layer and layer! So for this layout I layered my papers with my corrugated cardstock and a few little goodies, then before I adhered it all and stuck it to my layout I added my very first layer...mist...lots of gooey, drippy mist! I pretty much just poured it on and sprayed some water on it then tipped my paper before I dried it with my heat gun. It gave it that wonderful drippy look that I thought was perfect for the "fun dip" page ;)

I love all the little tags that come in this kit! I'm a sucker for anything with a camera on it, so these ones definitely made me happy! I cut out a small picture of  one of the frames from the packaging to use to frame my adorable little camera tag! add a few little wood veneer stars and call it a day!

There's still a few days left to play along with our "Texture Challenge" over at Scrapbook Nerd to get in on a chance to win a gift certificate to the store! Go on over and show us your texture!!

Blessings

Dog Days of Summer

Good Morning!

When I saw this sketch from Creative Scrappers  I knew I wanted to play along! It's such a great sketch because you can add without distraction! Sometimes I find that if a sketch is too busy, it's easy to just create a layout exactly as the sketch looks. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it is nice to have some creative license with your sketches and this one lets you do exactly that!

I knew I wanted to create a subway art style design with all of these fun die cuts. It's a great way to add interest in a lot of different dimensions and it also really helps put a bit of a dent in the die cut stash! lol I used the new Crate Paper Open Road collection and the Boys Rule collection for most of the die cuts. I love how these two go together so well!

I had fun playing with a new mask I got at the crop last week too (I can't remember which one, but it's from Crafter's Workshop! lol)

I'm really happy with how this layout turned out :)

Well, I'm off! Lucky me, I get to go to another crop today! Two weekends in a row! I'm pretty blessed with amazing family that helps me out with the kids!

Have an awesome weekend!!

Why Fit In?

Good Afternoon my crafty peeps! We're home today having a pajama craft/game day today because we're all a bit under the weather. I can definitely tell you I am ready for spring!! I think I might protest for sure if we get any more snow!

This weekend the wonderful ladies over at Scrapbook Nerd are hosting a Dr Seuss inspired crop! Did you know that if he was still alive he would have celebrated his 110th birthday this month!! That was why we decided to crop in honor of this fabulous author!

I made this layout last night to play along with Michelle's challenge to use all or part of this quote on your layout or card:

"Why Fit in When You Were Born to Stand Out?" -Dr. Seuss

I thought this quote would be perfect to document my funky new haircut!

I used my fabulous Daylight Savings Scrapbook and Mixed Media Kits from Paper Bakery for this layout. I'm totally loving the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection, so I had to use the Thickers to go with the patterned paper (even though they weren't in the kit!)

I was inspired by the March Sketch from Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

The small grey alphabets are from the February Umbrella Rain Scrapbook Kit, and the white paint splatter is from the February Umbrella Rain Mixed Media Kit. I LOOOVE how that paint splatters!! It's amazing stuff!!

I had some extra mist left over after misting the piece of canvas that came in the Daylight Savings kit, so I sprayed a shipping tag  with water and then sopped up the Dylusions mist with it. After I dried it, I used the "art is in me" exclusive stamp from Paper Bakery and some grey ink and randomly stamped it all over. ***TIP*** When I'm doing something like that and I want it to look really random, I never put my stamp on a block. This way I can kind of bend it and shape it when I'm putting it on my surface and it doesn't come out looking like a square design on my stamp.

When I misted the canvas I made sure I got it nice and wet first and that way I can get a more even look because the Dylusions mist reacts with water so it wicks out and blends. I sooooo love these mists!

There's still lots of time to play along with us at Scrapbook Nerd!! You will have until next Friday to link up your challenge entries to be eligible to win some shop credit!! Who doesn't want to win a gift certificate to buy scrappy stuff?! I know I do!!

Well, I'm off to clean my house (somebody has to do it!) I'm hoping to get some more challenges in tonight, so stay tuned and I'll post them here!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
Be Blessed!
