A Valentine's Mini Album!

Hello my crafty friends! I wanted to share a super cute mini album using the glassine bags that came in the Clique Kits (sold out!!)  We Go Together Kit!! This kit is jam packed full of awesome goodies! It made making this mini for my husband for Valentine’s Day quite easy!

How cute is this little tag with the kiss rub on and the adorable little fringes that came in the kit?! That’s one of the many reasons I love Clique Kits! They always add these really amazing little touches to their kits!

I just love all the adorable ephemera in the Elle’s Studio die cut pack and the wood veneer?! *sigh* LOVE!

We go together like…Milk and Cookies! How cute is that?!

I love all the mushy sayings and phrases on the die cut pieces too!

Also, how cool is that cork?! LOVE IT!!

We’re kind of goofy, I know! lol Actually, when I went to make this mini, I vowed that Chris and I would take more selfies because I had to really hunt for the ones I found here!

This little typewriter is one of my fav stickers that came in the kit! I just love that it’s typing out a heart shaped I love you! So cute!

again…wood veneer love! I can’t get enough of these!

This was the last page. An actual professional photo! Woohoo!

I I love that the glassine bags are partially see through, and I thought it would be a cool way to show off the patterned papers that I wanted to use, so I cut some of the patterned paper into tags to use on the inside of my album, and I wrote bible verses about love on them :)  each page has a different one :)

What are your plans for Valentine's Day? My husband is working, so no plans. We don't usually make a big deal about Valentine's Day, we kind of think that you shouldn't need an exuse to be nice to the one you love ;) But it is fun to have an excuse to go out for dinner or something! lol

Be sure to stop by the Clique Kits blog in the next couple days to see some more projects I've made with the Special Edition We Go Together Kit!!

Blessings!

The More That You Read, The More Things You Will Know ...

It's started everyone!!!! I can't wait to get my crop on this weekend with the wonderful gals over at Scrapbook Nerd!! I'm so excited about this crop because it's themed after one of my absolute favourite authors: Dr. Seuss!! I LOVE his books and so do my boys!

That's what my challenge for the crop is based on...reading...we love to read in our house and I am big on sharing our love of reading early early early in our boys lives! My challenge to you is to scrap about your favourite book, your kids favourite books, pictures of you reading, or your kids reading!

This is the layout I made about Caleb "reading" (he can't read yet) to Linden.

I decided to play along with Elle's Studio for this layout too and I used their fabulous sketch!

I really hope you join us this weekend for our Dr. Seuss crop!! It's going to be so much fun, with prizes to be won and inspiration by the tonne!! (Did you see what I did there?! With the Seussical rhyme?! hehe)

Pop over to Scrapbook Nerd now and if you haven't already, register in the forum to see the rest of the Nerd's challenges and play along!
Can't wait to see you there!!

Blessings

Studio Calico Crop and a few sketchy challenges

This weekend I actually managed to get quite a bit of scrappy time in! I even made 2 layouts in one day!! I know right?! I was excited to play along with Studio Calico's crop challenges and I managed to get three of them done!

The first one was a layering challenge and I used a sketch from Elle's Studio. I used a ton of different layers on this layout. I started off by stamping and then I added some die cut leaves and added some gesso on top of them for some texture. Then I misted the gesso, then flicked paint and added paint circles that I stamped on with a toilet paper roll. Then I layered some paper, a glassine bag from my old Studio Calico Kits, then a layer of washi with some stamps on top. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I added all of those paper layers on top of some tags! I even added a stitched layer too!

The next challenge was a photo inspiration challenge:

Here's the photo:

I just LOVE the flowy texture and colours and patterns of this picture!

I also used a sketch for this one too. This time it came from Let's Get Sketchy:

The last one was a sketch challenge:

here's the sketch:

Well that's all for today! I hope to get some time to play tomorrow on my birthday too!!

Don't forget to
