Hey everyone!! I hope you're having fun along the blog hop! If you haven't been hopping along, you can start off at the Clique Kits blog and go from there! Trust me, you're not going to want to miss this one! We have a very talented group of subscribers and this kit is beautiful!!
So, the challenge this month was to use 3 or more photos on your layout, while I didn't do that with this layout, I still challenged myself by using a big photo. I have never scrapped such a big photo, but when I took this pic of the boys at the lake, I did it on purpose with the thoughts that I would make it really big and have a lot of white space to play with on a layout! So, that's what I did! I'm really happy with the way it turned out, although it is SOOOO out of my comfort zone!!
True to Sarah fashion, I actually made this layout at 1am this morning! I've decided that sleep is really overrated and we were watching the final Orange is the New Black episode, because you know you have to watch 5 episodes at once when watching a series on Netflix! lol Anyway, this morning I wanted to finish it off by adding some machine stitching around the edges, and I'm not gonna lie, that took me an hour! I was ready to throw my sewing machine out the window!! It kept jamming up on me and I don't know enough about sewing machines and tension and all that stuff to fix it, but it seemed like too much thread was coming up from the bobbin and making a big mess in the back! If anyone is a sewing guru and knows why my machine is doing that, I'd love to know!
I kept the layout really simple because obviously the giant photo is the main focal point of this layout and I didn't want a lot of extras on this page, so I cut random strips of paper from what was left of my papers in this kit, and layered them underneath my photo, and then just added some embellishments and the title on either corner of the photo.
I know a deer has nothing to do with swimming, but I just love that resin deer, so I don't care if it isn't part of my theme, I just wanted to put it there! lol I love the exclusive flair so much in this kit, I actually want to have like 3 more sets of them! They're sooooo amazing!!
Your next stop is the lovely Marcia! That girl is soooo talented!! I can't wait to see what everyone else has created! Off to hop!!
Thanks for stopping by!! Don't forget to leave some love as you hope for a chance to win this amazing kit!!
