Zombie Eyes

Good Morning Bloggers! Just popping in quickly to show you another layout I made this weekend while playing along at the Scrapbook Nerd online crop! We had a lot of fun and were totally inspired! If you missed it, something tells me we might have something fun planned for November too! You'll just have to wait and see!!

I made this layout of my two middle boys from when our house was plagued by pink eye! I'm such a freak about eye things too! It was really hard for me to have this go through our house! My eyes were watering even doing this layout!

Well I'm off to go clean my house! (story of my life!)

Online Crop!!

Well I hope you're all having a great weekend so far! I just wanted to pop in quickly to show you the layout I just made while playing along over at Scrapbook Nerd's Online Crop! They're hosting a weekend crop "Inspired by Pinterest" and there's tons of inspiration and prizes so head on over there and play along with us!!

I made this layout as part of Michelle's challenge to paint with mists. I didn't do any miraculous and funky technique, but I did paint my Heidi Swapp resist alphabet (school) with her new navy colour shine mist!

I also wanted to play along with Frosted Designs' Fabulous Friday Challenge to use Kraft, chipboard, and flair.

I'm making this quick because I want to get some scrapping in tonight and work on some more of those awesome "Inspired by Pinterest" layouts for the Nerd's Crop! Come and join us!! You have until tomorrow at midnight to link up your creations! What better way to spend a Sunday?!

Blessings!

Baby Wearin'

Happy Thanksgiving weekend for all my fellow Canadians! I hope you're deep in thought about all the blessings that we can all be thankful for!! I know I am!

For one, I'm thankful that I managed to find some time to play along with the new sketch over at Paper Bakery! They always have such fabulous sketches, and last time I played along, I won a 10 dollar gift certificate to their store!! WOOOHOOOO!! I always love enabling my crafty supply addiction!! lol

Well, I'll stop babbling and show you the sketch and my creation!

And here's what I was up until 2:30am playing around with last night! I know, I'm crazy! But I had coffee at 7pm last night and I was wired for sound! So I figured I might as well play while I can't sleep! I wanted to document the fact that Linden is a total mama's boy and loves to be "worn" everywhere we go! I never had these fabulous baby carriers with my other boys, and I really wish I would have, because I have 2 different ones and they're both amazing! At first before I had Linden I thought I was maybe going a little overkill buying two different carriers, but now I'm really glad I did! They're both total lifesavers!

The title of my layout was inspired by Ashley Horton's layout that she has on her blog right now. I believe her paper is a die cut paper that is pre done with the word LOVE on it. I really loved how having most of the title popping up with some patterned paper underneath really gave the layout a little added dimension. So I grabbed out my trusty Cameo and cut out the word WEARIN' on the side. It took me some time to figure out how to do this so it wouldn't cut out the whole word, but I finally kind of figured it out. Now if you are reading this and you know of an easier way on the Silhouette Studio, please let me know! It wasn't super hard or anything, but I would welcome an easier way for sure! What I ended up doing was making the lines on the words perforated instead of solid, then after it was all cut out, I used my craft knife to cut out all the parts of the letters except the bottoms. Then I adhered some yellow patterned paper underneath it so you can see a little pop of colour in the right angles. After I cut it out, the word still was getting lost in the layout, so I used my Heidi Swapp Color Shine and my water pen and painted some green on the words just to make them pop.

I just got an 8 pack of sketch pens for my Cameo too, so I used the black one to sketch out these two concentric circles on my layout too! Loooove the sketch pens!!

I also used my Cameo to cut out the arrows along the top and bottom of my layout and backed them with some wide ombre washi tape.

I definitely gave my Cameo some well deserved attention last night! The title and the arrow with the heart were also cut out with my little die cutting miracle worker ;)

Well, there you have it! I'm pretty sure I won't be staying up late tonight (I'm barely managing to keep my eyes open right now and it's only 4:30!!), but I did love getting a chance to play again!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to...

iPhone post anyone?!

How cool is it that I'm blogging from my iPhone?! I just love the technology of cell phones these days! Remember when all there was for cell phones were those giant flip phones and we had to use the internet on our computers only?! Not to mention it was dial up! I sometimes wonder what I would do without the internet and the good old Google search! How did we learn things before? I forget! LOL

Anyway, on to my layout. In honour of National Card Making Day, I thought I'd do some scrap booking...since it's a rare thing for me to make a card ;) also, I really wanted to play along with the Paper Bakery sketch this time and I lost track of time and it's due tonight! So without further adieu, here's the sketch and my layout!!

Isn't this a great sketch?!

And here's my layout:

And some close ups:

I'm really loving the MME Cut and Paste collections. And how cool are the new Tim Holtz stencils?! I just got three of them in some happy mail from Scrapbook Nerd, but I'm thinking I need all of them! LOL! Also all the new Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists! I just can't get enough of those lately!

Well, I should probably get off my phone and start making dinner...I'm still just floored that I'm actually posting this from my phone!! Hehehe

Hope you're having a creative weekend!

Blessings,

Sarah

Nerd Kit :)

Well, it's been a while since my last post. I am actually managing to get some scrapping done these days, but that's about it! Linden doesn't like to nap during the day, and he's very tired, therefore very cranky. So I hold him and I nurse him, and that's about all I manage to do in a day! I wear him in my Ergo carrier and can manage to sweep the floors and vacuum and do the odd other thing, but I haven't mastered dishes with that thing yet!

I made this layout before I even had Linden out of my kit that I got from the fabulous ladies at Scrapbook Nerd. My layout was made using the Echo Park Photo Freedom "Today's Story" collection. I just love this collection! It definitely makes easy work of scrapbooking! Which is totally something I need right now with my crazy busy life right now!

I love that there are these cut apart pages with 6x12 journaling blocks so you can have a lot of room to tell your story if you so happen to have a lot to say! These pictures where from a "date night" that Ethan and I had...although he doesn't like it when I say we went on a date! lol I won tickets to see the band "Chiliwack" and he really wanted to come with me, so I took him. They played about 4 songs, and he started crying because it was too loud! I didn't really care if we left or not because they were free tickets and I was pretty much only going because he wanted to go, so we went for ice cream instead!

And here's a few close ups:

You can get all of these fabulous products when you go and visit the Scrapbook Nerds and when you're there, go check out their fabulous forum! There's always something fun going on there!

Well, I should go fold some laundry while Linden is sleeping before I have to pick up the boys at school!

Blessings

You Float My Boat

I made this layout a while ago, when the Paper Bakery sketch first came out, but it's taken me a while to get some time to sit on the computer and blog this one! As it is, I have time today because Linden has decided he only wants to nap on me, so I am currently wearing him in my Moby wrap and blogging while enjoying a coffee :) I can't complain too much, except it makes it difficult to get much else done. There are currently a load of dirty cloth diapers in my bathtub waiting for me to stain treat them before they go into the wash...hopefully I will get those done in a bit :) But until then, I am going to enjoy looking at my little boy sleeping peacefully on my chest. I know it goes by way too fast!

Already, he looks waaaay different than this picture that I scrapped of him with his adorable little owl toque on.

I couldn't help myself when I took this picture he just looked soooo stinkin cute I knew I had to scrap it right away!

I used my Cameo to cut the circle background and then added some other vellum die cuts, wood pieces and flair into the circles.

The title is a vellum piece too, but I backed it onto a piece of kraft cardstock then cut it out so it stood out better.

I added a few strips of washi and some mist drops and called it a day!

here's the sketch I used:

Well, Linden just woke up, so that's all for today! Hope you liked my layout! Don't forget to follow my blog on bloglovin!!

First day of School...Last day at Camp! :(

I was quite terrified of today to be perfectly honest! I think most moms are jumping up and down for joy at the thought of their kids going back to school, but I was dreading the new routine with a four week old baby! That's right! Can you believe Linden is already four weeks old today?! Can you tell he loves his carseat?! lol That thing is the bane of his little existence! lol

As much as I was really afraid of getting 4 kids ready to leave the house by 7:50am today, I actually managed it just fine! 1 day down...a million more to go! lol We were a teeeeeeny bit late this morning though, because we had to have a little photo shoot before getting in the car! The kids totally hammed it up too!

I can't believe how big they're all getting! My babies are all growing up!

I think I notice it in Caleb the most! How stinkin cute is that kid?!

Kieran was sooooo excited and a little bit overwhelmed to be starting his first year of preschool, but luckily, big brother Caleb is there with him too!

They also all wanted to show off their backpacks!

Ethan was NOT into smiling for his "at my desk in grade 3" picture, so I had to make super goofy faces to make him laugh and I finally got one!!

The boys were way too excited to get into their class, so this was the best I could do for them!

I have to go pick up Ethan in a few minutes, so I will find out how his first day of grade 3 went soon! I can't wait to see how it was!

On a sad note, today is the last day for Summer Camp with the Scrapbook Nerds! I've had such a blast playing along and hosting challenges this summer! I had to squeeze in one last challenge before it was over! Michelle challenged us to use arrows, which is not hard at all considering how trendy they are in scrapbooking these days! I had these pictures of our first family fishing trip that I was dying to scrapbook! I've got so many summer pictures from this year left that I really have to get them done before I'm in the mood for fall layouts (which will happen really soon I can tell!)

So just because Summer Camp is over at Scrapbook Nerd, doesn't mean there isn't going to be a lot of great stuff going on there in the very near future! We've got some very exciting things up our sleeves!! And don't forget to go do some shopping over there too! They've got a FABULOUS supply of all things crafty!!

Well, I'm off to go pick up Ethan! Now we have to get used to doing homework again! Yikes!!

Blessings
